Strolling through Charleston, I stumbled across Queology Barbecue, tucked away on N Market St. It wasn’t just the smell that pulled me in; the laid-back vibe and cheerful staff made it irresistible. As soon as I walked through the door, I felt welcomed, like I’d just joined a gathering of friends.
Their BBQ? Simply mouthwatering. I opted for the pork sliders, which came out sizzling, drizzled with a trio of sauces. Oh boy, the Kansas City one stole the show! The sliders were quick to arrive, and honestly, it was hard not to get greedy. The potato salad wasn’t bad either; it felt like a solid sidekick to my feast.
I couldn’t help but notice the buzz in the atmosphere. There was music—reggae or blues, not sure—which created a chill backdrop to my meal. Oh, and did I mention the friendly servers? One guy, Shorty, was a standout. He made sure I was having a great time, keeping my drinks topped up and sharing stories that made me laugh.
On a practical note, the location is alright—a short walk from some streets buzzing with life and tourist spots. Sure, I had to pay for parking across the street, but after such great food and service, I’d say it was worth every penny!
Next time I’m in Charleston, Queology will be my go-to BBQ spot, no doubt!
